‘Gatas para kay Lexi’: Netizens help baby in need of milk after mom’s death

Mothers in social media and other concerned netizens heeded the call for breastmilk for ‘Baby Lexi’ after her mother passed away because of dengue.

John David Borre posted his appeal on Facebook on August 14 and he was overwhelmed that a number of netizens gave them the milk for the one month child.

“We kindly asking for your help to donate a breast milk for Baby Lexi who is in need of breast milk. She is only 1-month-old and her mother passed away because of severe Dengue. This is the only way we can help for baby Lexi to continue in breastfeeding,” John posted on Facebook.

He was surprised with the overwhelming support from breastfeeding mothers to help Baby Lexi.

“Ang dami na po gustong magbigay ng breastmilk nila para kay Baby Lexi,” John told ABS-CBN News.

Borre is one of the friends of Baby Lexi’s mother, Cristine Ang.

Ang was hospitalized due to severe dengue and her illnesses led to her untimely demise.

“Ang daming hospital po ang pinagdalhan sa kaniya that time hanggang umabot po siya dito sa Chinese General Hospital. Lumalaban po siya but ‘yung katawan po niya wala na po talaga,” Borre added.

Baby Lexi is now under the custody of her grandparents.
