Dubai court reduces fine on Egyptian actress involved in assault case

The fine imposed on Egyptian Actress Zeina for her physical assault case was reduced by a Dubai court from Dh10,000 to Dh5,000.

The 38-year-old actress was accused of assaulting a 12-year-old child of an Arab-American family. Zeina has denied accusations against her.

The Court of Misdemeanours initially ordered the actress to pay a fine of Dh10,000. It also ordered the tourist to pay an equal fine on an assault charge.

It was in June 29 of last year when Zeina got into an altercation with an Arab-American family after the actress accused the couple’s daughter of taking photos of her without consent.

A case was later filed at Al Barsha police station. A charge of invasion of privacy was dismissed when police found no photos or videos of the actress in the mobile phones of the woman and her daughter.

Technical experts also found that no such photos were deleted from their phones.

Both parties refused to reach an amicable settlement and decided to file cases against each other.
