OFWs put up reward money to find investment scam mastermind

Some overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Saudi Arabia have put up P50,000 reward money for anyone who can give information on the whereabouts of certain Elpidio Tanaliga Jr., alleged mastermind of an investment scam.

At least P12.5 million worth of investments were taken from four OFWs in this scam, reported GMA News.

One of them, Patrick Norman Algenio, who invested P10 million, initiated to put up the reward money to find Tanaliga.

Algenio urged the public to help them out.

Tanaliga is the subject of five arrest warrants from different courts.

He closed down the ALMASAI Finance and Investment (now ALMASAI Equity Holding Corporation) office in Quezon City in 2018.

He promised investors that they would earn five percent of their total investments every month.

Last 2018, Tanaliga promised to give back the money he owed to the victims but he is nowhere to be found.
