The total number of traffic accidents in Dubai during the Eid’l Adha holidays reached 950, according to the Command Control Center of the Dubai Police.
Speeding, tailgating, distracted driving and sudden change of lanes were among the common reasons of traffic accidents since the beginning of Eid Al Adha until Tuesday midnight.
Colonel Turki bin Fares, director of the Command Control Center of the Dubai Police, revealed that 28,603 calls were made to the police’s emergency hotline 999.
He reminded motorists to drive with caution, especially in pedestrian crossings, intersections, and residential areas.
In Sharjah, over 23,000 calls were received by the operations room during the Eid Al-Adha weekend.
