30 cable cars in Canada plummet to the ground

Almost 30 cable cars crashed to the ground near Vancouver’s Howe Sound after a cable was deliberately cut, reported CNN.

“No guests or staff were on the gondola and no injuries were sustained in the incident,” the Sea to Sky Gondola said on its website.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said they believe it was an act of vandalism.

The Sea to Sky Gondola, a sightseeing attraction in Squamish, British Columbia, wasn’t operating when the incident happened 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

The gondola is currently closed as police consider the area a crime scene.

The Gondola takes passengers to almost 3,000 feet above sea level, providing views of Howe Sound, the majestic coastal forest and surrounding mountains.
