Ohio mass shooting kills nine, hurt 26

LESS than 24 hours after the deadly gun attack in Texas, another mass shooting took place in a popular nightclub district in Dayton, Ohio.

Authorities said nine people were killed and 26 were injured in the Sunday dawn shooting in Dayton.

The gunman, who has yet to be identified, was killed by responding police.

Police said the gunman was armed with a .223 caliber, a high-capacity gun that is being compared to AR-15 assault rifle used in previous mass shootings.

The incident followed the mass shooting at Walmart in El Paso, Texas that left 20 persons killed and 26 others injured.

The Dayton shooting happened about 1 a.m. on East Fifth Street in the city’s Oregon District.

The gunman started shooting as he was walking toward a bar called Ned Peppers.

Police quickly responded to the shooting alarm and neutralized the shooter in about a minute
