Senator Lito Lapid said that the resumption of PCSO lotto operations proved that President Rodrigo Duterte’s call to investigate the agency is working.
“Ang muling pagbubukas ng operasyon ng lotto sa buong bansa ay patunay na umuusad ang ginagawang imbestigasyon ng Pangulo tungkol sa anomalya sa PCSO,” Lapid said in a statement.
Lapid who is also the Senate Games Committee chairperson said that this is a good move because a lot of Filipinos depend on lotto as their means of livelihood and the income that the games generate funds the agency’s charitable services.
“Maganda ito para sa marami nating kababayan na umaasa sa lotto bilang kanilang kabuhayan pati na rin sa pondong ipinapasok nito sa kaban na siyang pinagkukunan para ibigay sa mga pasyenteng tinutulungan ng PCSO,” Lapid added.
The senator said he is also waiting for the result of the investigation to find out the real masterminds behind the massive corruption in the agency.
“Gayundin, hinihintay ng nakararami ang direksyon ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Duterte hinggil sa Small Town Lottery (STL), Peryahan ng Bayan at Keno kung nais pa rin nilang ipagpatuloy sa kabila ng mga kontrobersyang bumabalot dito,” Lapid said.
