The Office of Transport Security updated the list of prohibited items which can be brought inside the airport or aircraft.
The list now covers chemicals and toxic substances.
Improvised firearms, hoverboards, arrow and dart, power banks, e-cigarettes, air tank (diving equipment) may be allowed on cabin or check-in baggage but dependent on the country of destination.
There is also a long list of prohibited liquid, aerosols and gels. The prohibition was made during a 2006 foiled terrorist attack where suspects tried to smuggle liquids that they planned to use for an explosive device.
“Security is non negotiable. We urge the public to refain from bringing items that are prohibited in the airport to avoid delays and inconvenience. If you are unsure whether an item is prohibited or not, you may contact us through email, SMS Hotline, or any of our official social media accounts. Or better yet, if it is not that important, we suggest that you just leave it at home,” the OTS said in a statement.
