Duterte comments on ‘Galawang Chavit’ video: ‘Good luck next time’

President Rodrigo Duterte poked fun on former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson after his so-called ‘Galawang Chavit’ video went viral.

In the video, Singson and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray were both sitting and waiting for the start of Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao’s fight against Keith Thurman at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada last weekend.

Singson appeared to be tired and sleepy and attempted to lean on Gray’s shoulder.

Aware of what’s happening around her even though she’s on her phone, Gray veered away and looked at Chavit, waking the former politician up.

“Si Bong, sige panood doon sa gimmick mo doon sa… sabi niya tignan mo talaga si Chavit oh,” Duterte said in a speech Thursday.

Duterte’s comment on Singson drew laughters from the crowd.

“Well wala akong, we do not have that kind of opportunity to be, ikaw lang ‘yun, sir. So we can only say good luck and may the next mission be accomplished,” Duterte added.
