Former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson explained that it was his jet lag and stress that made him sleepy in the now viral ‘Galawang Chavit video’.

Last weekend, netizens were quick to point out that Singson was trying to take advantage of Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray while the two of them are in Manny Pacquiao’s holding room.

The viral video showed Singson, looking sleepy and tried to lean on Gray’s shoulder.

Gray noticed Singson and looked at him before the former politician realized what he was doing.

“Sabi ko, ‘Sorry ha, tinulugan ko beauty mo,’ kako sa kaniya. Tawa nang tawa,” Singson said.

Singson told ABS-CBN News that he did not try to make a move on Gray.

“Kararating lang namin, hindi ako nakatulog so jet lag. Nagising naman agad. Hindi lang umabot,” he said.

Singson also said that there’s a big possibility that the country will host the Miss Universe pageant next year.
