Dubai: An unemployed male expat hammered an Asian housemaid to death as she tried to defend her employer’s house which he tried to rob.
The man, who was sacked from his firm three months ago, sneaked into the house from the back door.
After ransacking a room, he went straight into the maid’s room to hide.
Thinking she had gone, the thief later tried to sneak out but he came face to face with the maid and her dog.
“He jumped on her and hammered her with a big metal object on the head many times, killing her instantly. When the dog barked at him, he hit it on the head and fled the area,” the Arabic language daily Al-Bayan reported.
The accused disposed of the metal object tainted with blood.
But a few days later, he was identified and arrested by the police.
