PNP files cases vs. Robredo, Catholic church members, opposition leaders

The Philippine National Police filed sedition charges and a number of criminal complaints against Vice President Leni Robredo, members of the Catholic church and opposition members.

The PNP said that this is due to their alleged involvement in making and spreading the ‘Ang Totoong Narcolist’ video.

Robredo together with Senators Leila De Lima, Kiko Pangilinan, Risa Hontiveros, Antonio Trillanes, and Bam Aquino are part of the 35 respondents on the cases filed at the Justice Department.

Cases filed are inciting to sedition, libel, estafa and harboring a criminal.

Also part of the complaints are members of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines and Otso Diretso senatorial candidates Gary Alejano, Chel Diokno, Florin Hilbay, Samira Gutoc, and Romy Macalintal.

Peter Advincula who claimed to be “Bikoy” said that he was forced to the narco list videos which tagged President Duterte and his family in the illegal drug trade.

“Planned to spread false information against President Duterte’s family and administration officials to agitate the general population into making mass protest with the possibility of bringing down the President from the position and allow Vice President Robredo to instantly succeed,” the complaint stated.

The Justice Department has formed a panel to investigate the complaint.
