Noy to skip SONA for the 4th time

Every year during the State of the Nation Address (SONA), former presidents get to be invited to attend the annual occasion.

However, former president Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III prefers to just watch it on television, according to a report from MSN News.

This will be the fourth time he will not be seeing it in person.

However, Vice President Leni Robredo confirmed in an interview with dzMM last Friday that she will attend the 4th SONA.

Robredo, who leads the opposition Liberal Party, says her working relationship with Duterte is “very civil”.

While the two leaders have received their invitation, the head of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Chito Gascon is still waiting for his.

Preparations for the SONA are underway as the final Pre-SONA event is slated on Wednesday in Davao City.

The Climate Change, Adaptation, Mitigation, and Disaster Risk Reduction Cluster and the Security, Justice, and Peace Cluster will be presenting its accomplishments tomorrow with Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.

Meanwhile, the public has been advised that starting July 19 until July 21, there will be a “complete lock-out policy” as part of security measures imposed by the Presidential Security Group (PSG), according to acting Secretary-General Dante Roberto Maling.

Those who don’t have any official business inside the House during the period will not be given access inside the Batasang Pambansa complex.
