A senior citizen was hit and killed while crossing the highway in Alburquerque town, Bohol Wednesday afternoon.
Police Staff Sgt. Noel Monton of Alburquerque Police Station said the fatal incident occurred at 12:30 p.m. along the highway in Bgy. Tagbuane in Alburquerque.
He said Samuel Dumagan, who was in his 70s, was crossing the road when he was struck by a tourist van bound for Loay town in Bohol.
Dumagan was rushed to a hospital in Tagbilaran City but was declared dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, the driver identified as Miguel Reyes, 69, was rushed to hospital after he experienced high blood pressure.
No tourist was hurt, police said.
