Filipina dies after liposuction in Makati

A Filipina who underwent liposuction surgery died of complications at a clinic in Paseo de Magallanes, Makati City. 

The 43-year-old victim identified as Nory Bobadilla died in Paranaque Doctor’s Hospital on July 6 while she was in a state of coma, reported GMA News.

The Makati Police Station said Bobadilla went to the Contours Advanced Face and Body Sculpting Institute Clinic last July 3 for her liposuction surgery. 

However, she was rushed to the hospital that same day when se suffered complications while going under the knife.

She was in a coma since that day until she died three days after. 

Police are yet to release the results of the autopsy.

Bobadilla’s family pressed charges against the two doctors who conducted the surgery. 

They were identified as Dr. Claudin Roura and anesthesiologist Dr. Katrina Bulseco.

Both  were arrested on July 5 but was later on released from police custody after the Contours’ legal counsel Roel Pulido called it an “illegal” arrest. 

The doctors are facing possible charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
