The Public Prosecution recently referred a student to the Dubai Criminal Court after being charged with assaulting and insulting a police officer as well as resisting arrest.
The 24-year-old student had been reported to the authorities in May where it was found out that the student entered the premises of a certain company at Ras Al Khor Industrial Area 1 and threatened its employees with a sharp weapon, as per a report from Khaleej Times.
After the accused fled the scene, the police arrived and searched the area for the student. The complainant, who is a corporal at the Dubai Police, asked the accused to step inside the vehicle, but the accused refused.
Not only did the accused resist arrest, he then threw insults and punches towards the complainant before he was held in place.
