Filipino boxer Arthur Villanueva fails to win world title

Filipino boxer Arthur Villanueva failed to grab a world boxing title for the third time.

Villanueva fought with WBC bantamweight champion Nordine Oubaali of France Saturday night in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.

The Pinoy boxer was forced to quit on the seventh round of the match after failing to respond on the punching abilities of Oubaali.

Villanueva also had difficulty in making serious blows to the French boxer despite his consistent counter-punches style.

Villanueva managed to survive the sixth round but decided to surrender on the seventh round.

This is Oubaali’s 16th straight professional win, 12 knockouts.

Villlanueva meanwhile is now 0-3 in world title bouts after losing against Puerto Rican McJoe Arroyo in 2015 and Zolani Tete of South Africa in 2017.
