A two-year-old Arab boy is now in critical condition after he was left inside his father’s car on Friday in Sharjah.
Based on the initial investigation by police authorities, the toddler snuck inside the car after it was left open by his father who went to the mosque for the Juma prayer.
When the father went home, he realized that his son was nowhere to be found. He finally found him lying unconscious at the back seat of the car.
According to an interview from Khaleej Times with hospital staff, the suffocation that the boy experienced led to complications. He is still under close supervision.
Meanwhile, the Wasit police station will conduct its own investigation to determine if there was negligence involved.
Sharjah Police reiterated their call to parents to never leave their children inside their vehicles.
