If you’ll ask the adults in the Philippines, both the current leaders of the United States (US) and China earned their vote of confidence in handling world affairs.
Not only that, most Filipino adults gave out positive remarks for both countries.
This is the result of a survey done in 2018 by Pew Research Center analysis covering 25 countries around the world, including the Philippines.
The result published earlier this month is contrary to the poll conducted by Social Weather Station in September last year, where China earned poor ratings.
This new analysis from the US-based research center showed that the country ranked second in the most number of adults or 48 percent who had favorable views for both countries.
The country, on the other hand, earned the top spot in having confidence in both US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping with a 50 percent rating.
This means they have confidence in both leaders to do the right thing, especially on world affairs.
US usually scored a “very good” rating in local surveys done by SWS on its trust ratings since it started in December 1994. China’s ratings in the last September SWS survey improved at -16 compared to the results in June with -35.
