National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has raised the security to full alert status following the twin blasts that rocked Indanan, Sulu last Friday.
The explosions killed 8 people and 12 others wounded.
Metro Manila Police Chief Guillermo Eleazar said the move was a proactive approach following the blasts.
“Although there are no threats detected within the National Capital Region but as a proactive means in response to this terror attack, the entire region is now placed under full alert status,” Eleazar said in a statement.
Eleazar added that the move will help in preventing individuals to carry out illegal or terroristic acts.
“Having this measure would be of great help in deterring unscrupulous individuals in carrying out their illegal or terroristic acts.”
The NCRPO encourages individuals to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities or people to authorities.
