The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the cabins allotted for women and children will be relocated to be more comfortable.
The new ‘pink’ cabins will be moved to the end to the end of the train opposite of the gold class.
Signages will also be moved to properly inform customers. The RTA hopes to finish it by August 2019.
The decision was in accordance with the RTA’s goal of providing smooth transport to all. The new cabin designs will also fit the new trains.
Men who will be found standing in the pink cabins will be penalized of Dh100.
The project will be carried out in three phases through awareness campaigns, social media and the support of Metro employees.
