The Criminal Court of Abu Dhabi heard the case of an expat lady accused of drinking alcohol and assaulting a police officer, causing slight damage to the police patrol.
During the hearing, the defendant admitted that she was drunk but denied the assault and police patrol damage charges, saying that she wasn’t aware of the events of the incident which she claims that she didn’t remember.
The defendant expressed her apologies on the matter, stating that she had been living in the country for 6 years, respecting its rules and laws. She also stated that she has a clean record and therefore seeks mercy.
The defense of accused stated that the latter was willing to bare any costs due to the damage of police patrol, acknowledging that his client didn’t have drinking alcohol permit, seeking her to be sponsored.
