Locsin says sorry after calling Robredo ‘boba’

Foreign Affairs Chief Teddy Boy Locsin Jr. slammed Vice President Leni Robredo over her comments on the ‘courtesy diplomatic passport’ issue Monday.

Robredo said that the DFA’s move to cancel diplomatic passports is a knee-jerk reaction to the incident in Hong Kong involving former Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario.

“Hey boba, that is precisely why I have ordered the cancellation of all courtesy diplomatic passports because I refuse to single out Del Rosario,” Locsin said in a tweet.

But moments later, Locsin realized that he went overboard on her comments on Robredo.

“I don’t mean to be disrespectful Ma’am. You are just a missing heartbeat away from the Presidency. I respect you for that accident of fortune. But there are things that require a measure of study and thought. Please ask me next time. At your service, Ma’am,” Locsin said in another tweet.

“That’s no way for a gentleman to speak to a lady. Apologies,” Locsin added.
