HPG says Duterte’s Cubao to Makati in 5 minutes promise is doable

President Rodrigo Duterte’s wish to make Cubao to Makati travel time cut to five minutes may not be a impossible at all, according to Highway Patrol Group (HPG) Chief Roberto Fajardo.

He said that this is doable if bus terminals along major roads will be removed.

“‘Yung bus lane will be strictly enforced, ‘yung mga terminals sa loob ng EDSA will be removed. Hindi ipapagamit ‘yung, makikita niyo ‘yung motorcycle lane sa bus lane ‘di ba? Imo-move natin ito sa pangatlong lane,” Fajardo told CNN Philippines in an interview.

Experts say that for the President’s plan to work, vehicles should be moving at least 120 kilometers per hour from Cubao to Makati.

The Metro Manila Development Authority previously said that the plan is ‘mathematically impossible’.
