Etihad Airways has announced that it is carefully evaluating the US Federal Aviation Administration decision to restrict US airline operations in the Iranian controlled airspace.
The UAE airline said it has now suspended operations in the in the Strait of Hormuz which means that flight delays and longer journeys will be expected.
The move is also set to increase air congestion in Abu Dhabi and journey time to take longer because of the new routes.
The safety of its passengers and staff is the highest priority for Etihad Airways. The airline is also consistently coordinating with airport officials to assess the current situation.
