UAE summer starts today but rainfall still expected

The summer has officially started today, June 21, in the UAE with slightly higher temperatures during the day.

Rainfall however is still expected in some areas, especially during afternoon.

The National Center of Meteorology (NMC) said some areas would be dusty and partly cloudy. Convective clouds would form over the Eastern and Southern areas and these clouds may be accompanied by rains.

Heat peaked at 43C in Al Ain, 40C in Sharjah, 39C in Dubai and Ajman, 38C in Abu Dhabi, 37C in Fujairah, and 36C in Ras Al Khaimah.


The nigh will be humid, “especially in coastal areas with a probability of mist formation,” the NCM said. “Winds will be moderate to fresh, especially westwards, causing blowing of dust over the exposed areas,” it added.
