Kuwait authorities arrest suspect in Pinay airport rape case

The airport official in Kuwait who allegedly abducted and raped a Filipina domestic worker upon her arrival at the airport fell in the hands of authorities in the Gulf state, according to Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III.

The suspect was identified as Fayed Naser Hamad Alajmy, 22.

Reports say that he assisted the victim in a fingerprint scanning process in the airport and then brought her to his car and raped her.

“Dinala sa sasakyan, inilabas. Dinala sa isolated na lugar, ni-rape, and then hinatid. Ibinalik sa airport, tapos naglaho na ‘yung lalaki,” OFW advocate Susan Ople said.

The employers of the suspect were the ones who reported to the authorities his whereabouts.

Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Emmanuel Fernandez said in a statement on Wednesday: “The Philippine government, through the Philippine embassy in Kuwait, is closely coordinating with Kuwaiti authorities for the speedy arrest of the suspect.”

“The Philippine government will exert all efforts to ensure that justice is served,” he added.
