P9M cocaine seized from Indonesian at NAIA

Airport authorities arrested an Indonesian who hid P9 million worth of cocaine in a secret compartment of his suitcase.

Agus Burhan, 62, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 from Doha, Qatar yesterday, reported Inquirer.

An X-ray examination and drug-sniffing dogs at the airport detected the cocaine from Burhan’s suitcase, prompting agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Bureau of Customs to intercept the Indonesian.

PDEA agents inspected his suitcase and found 1.5 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a secret compartment. Authorities confiscated the cocaine and subjected it in a chemical analysis.

Burhan is facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
