Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Sen. Manny Pacquiao were some of the Filipino figures that were featured on the facade of Dubai Festival City building as the UAE joined in the celebration of Independence Day of the Philippines on June 12.
The complex displayed a photo of Gray and the People’s Champ, who are both well-known in the Philippines, after they made a name in the world of pageantry and boxing, respectively.
The Dubai Festival City showed a photo of Gray which was taken after she was crowned Miss Universe in Bangkok, Thailand last year.
In the photo projected on the facade, the Filipino-Australian beauty queen is wearing her iconic lava-inspired gown with the Mikimoto crown and the Miss Universe sash.
On the other hand, Pacquiao was seen celebrating his victory from one of his boxing matches.
Gray and Pacquiao have yet to comment on their photos being displayed on the Dubai Festival City but they have already posted their personal message to Filipinos in celebration of Independence Day.
Aside from the boxing champ and the fourth Filipina Miss Universe, the Dubai Festival City also exhibited other Philippine colors, culture, and scenery.
Filipinos gathered in the area to see the said light show while waving tiny Philippine flag.
Other than the Dubai Festival City, the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa, also displayed the Philippine flag for the same celebration.
