Dubai cabbie gropes Filipina

The Dubai Court of First Instance heard the case of a 25-year-old taxi driver accused of sexually harassing his Filipina passenger.

The Filipina said that the incident happened back in April 21 when she took the cab to Dubai Investment Park from Jumeirah Lake Towers at 9:44 PM, reported Khaleej Times.

She said that she sat on the passenger seat beside the Pakistani driver and was surprised when the latter started taking her to a different direction.

The Filipina immediately told the driver to drive straight to her destination since she did not have any money to pay for extra fare.

The Pakistani driver then pulled over and told the Filipina to recline her seat and lie on her back.

The complainant said that the driver started groping her inappropriately and even tried to kiss her more than once.

She added that the driver even offered to pay her to have sex with him and slipped Dh15 on her shirt pocket.

The woman refused and stepped out of the car. She took a photo of the car’s plate number and immediately went to the Jebel Ali police station to file a complaint.

The suspect currently remains in detention until the court finalizes its ruling on June 20.
