Erwin Tulfo apologizes anew: ‘Behind the bravado, I am a nobody’

Radio commentator Erwin Tulfo apologized anew to Social Welfare Secretary Rolando Bautista, who had set a number of conditions before accepting his apology.

Rolando’s alumni group at the Philippine Military Academy also declared Tulfo ‘persona non grata’ in all of its activities.

In a Facebook post by Tulfo he began by saying that he did everything to apologize for his outbursts against Bautista, which did not sit well with the former Army Chief’s colleagues.

“I have apologized and offer no excuses for overreacting to Sec. Bautista’s unavailability for a phone interview. For the nth time I am sorry, ” Tulfo said.

The media personality also acknowledges that whether Bautista will forgive him is no longer under his control.

Tulfo also knew that he ran into some ‘untouchable people’ in the Duterte administration after his remarks.

The radio personality said he sees no malice on the Philippine National Police’s move to recall his security escorts.

“In the course of my work as broadcast journalist, I have earned the ire of criminal elements and I am thankful to have been privileged recipient, along with my brothers of PNP’s security detail,” Tulfo added.

Tulfo said that their strong personalities deep inside they only to become voices of change.

“Behind the bravado, verbosity, foul language and cursing, I am a NOBODY but a voice of a little man yearning and crying out for a better deal, hoping for a place in a level playing field in times of promised change,” Tulfo said.
