PNP orders recall of Erwin Tulfo’s firearms

The Philippine National Police ordered the recall of firearms of radio personality and commentator Erwin Tulfo, Friday.

PNP Spokesperson PCol. Bernard Banac said Tulfo’s licenses to possess firearms have already expired.

Banac added that a notice of recall has been sent to Tulfo’s address, Thursday.

“The PNP has ordered for the recall or temporary safekeeping of the firearms of Erwin Tulfo inasmuch as the license to own and possess firearms of Mr. Erwin Tulfo has already expired,” he said.

The PNP spokesperson explained that the surrender of firearms is for safekeeping purposes only.

Banac added that if Tulfo would refuse to return the firearms, he could be subjected to a search warrant.

Renewal of license to possess firearms will resume after the election ban on June 12.

Banac said that Tulfo will need to undergo the same application process to get his license renewed. He further clarified that it was only Erwin’s licence to carry firearms reached expiration and not of his brothers.
