Irish national robbed in Tagbilaran

Police are still looking the identity of the suspect who stole US$8,000 (P416,000) from an Irish citizen.

The 62-year-old victim identified as Thomas Banks told Tagbilaran City Police that he lost US$ 8,000 (P416,000) from a gay man he met.

He said he invited the gay man in the hotel he stayed on Sunday night.

When he woke up in the wee hours on Monday, his guest was nowhere to be found. He also noticed that his cash and some belongings were missing.

Banks immediately reported the incident to the authorities.

The Tagbilaran City Police Station’s theft and robbery section has been tasked to conduct a follow-up investigation on the case.
