Manila: Some 177 lawmakers have voted in favor of House Bull 9156 or the ‘Comprehensive Renal Replacement Therapy Act’ on third and final reading.
Once signed into law, the bill will provide free dialysis treatment for indigent patients. It is also expected to expand the PhilHealh coverage for kidney transplant.
The bill also promotes the No Balance Billing Policy and increase package rates for Kidney disorders and hemodialysis.
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office or PCSO is also mandated to assist patients if he/she has already consumed their Philhealth budget allocation.
