Remains of slain OFW in Kuwait to arrive in PH

Manila: Constancia Dayag is coming home, but this is not the homecoming her family and relatives have expected.

In her death certificate, Dayag’s cause of death is still under investigation. Initial reports say that a cucumber was found inside Dayag’s private parts when she was rushed to the Al Sabah Hospital on May 14. Dayag was declared dead on arrival.

“Her body bore various contusions and hematoma, with a ‘cucumber’ inside her private part,” Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said.

“The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has requested for the immediate release of the official forensic report from the Criminal Evidence Department of Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior. As of the moment, the death certificate released by the Al-Sabah Hospital indicates that the cause of death is still under investigation. ” the DFA said in a statement.

The DFA adds they are closely monitoring Dayag’s murder case and hopes for a speedy resolution of the case.

“Therefore, there is nothing to refute. Repeat, nothing to refute. Repeat, nothing to refute. Once the Kuwaiti report is released, we will double-check it with our own experts. ” the DFA added.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will also conduct its own autopsy and toxicology tests on Dayag’s remains.

Dayag was a native of Isabela. Her death prompted calls to review the labor deal between the Philippines and Kuwait.
