1 dead, 4 injured in car collision with stray camel

A woman died and four others were injured after a stray camel was hit by a car in Taif, Saudi Arabia.

Emad Mansi, spokesman for the Red Crescent, told Saudi e-newspaper Sabq: “The operations room received a report about casualties in the incident. Three ambulatory teams from the Red Crescent as well as a health [ministry] team were sent to the scene.”

Officials reported that one of the injured victims got heavy wounds while the rest sustained medium injuries.

The Saudi government is currently doing the necessary measures to address accidents occurring due to unattended camels crossing highways. Heavy fines await camel owners who leave their animals in car roads, most especially at night.
