Leyte, Philippinez– It only took one vote for mayoral candidate Remedio Veloso to win in San Isidro, Leyte against his rival incumbent mayor Susan Ang.
Veloso garnered 8,829 votes while Ang received 8,828 votes.
The mayor-elect is running under the United Nations Alliance or UNA while the incumbent mayor is backed by the administration party PDP-Laban.
Ang is seeking her second term as mayor of the fourth class town with an income of about P90 million.
Veloso is the nephew of Rep. Vicente Veloso of Leyte’s 3rd district. He is also set to win the congressional race.
