Complaints bombard overseas absentee voting centers in Europe

A few days before the end of overseas absentee voting, Filipinos in Europe complained they have yet to receive their ballot packets.

Most of the affected voters are in Italy and Spain, but a registered voter in Italy who was long deceased had a ballot, according to ABS-CBN News.

Ballot packets were also found in an apartment building in Italy.

In Greece, the 3,500 registered voters there would use vote counting machines (VCMs) for the first time, but some were unable to cast their votes as they were deactivated from the list.

There are also VCMs in Cyprus, where there are 5,000 voters, where Filipinos already rushed to the embassy to cast their votes.

Officials also boarded ships in Europe to take the ballots of Filipino seafarers.
