Riyadh, Saudi Arabia– Netizens expressed outrage over photos of an Overseas Filipina Worker in Saudi tied her to a tree allegedly by her employers.
Among the netizens was Amer Navodlom who cried foul over the situation of the OFW identified as Lovely Baruela.
Baruela is from La Union and works as a helper in Riyadh. No details yet on how and why Baruela was tied in a tree as punishment.
In a statement the foreign affairs department said Baruela has been repatriated to Manila on Monday.
The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh reported her case on May 9 and was she repatriated on the same day.
No further details were given by the DFA and whether the government is planning to pursue legal actions on Baruela’s employers.
