Metro Manila traffic snarled after 3-hour downpour

Traffic slowed down to a crawl in Metro Manila after it rained for three hours on Wednesday night.

With the traffic congestion due to flooding in many parts of the Metro, motorists and commuters alike were stranded for hours.

The MMDA said Victory Araneta area was not passable to all vehicles due to chest-deep flood as of 9:24 p.m.

A few minutes after 10 p.m., commuters were still lined up in Welcome Rotonda in Quezon City. In Manila, commuters waded through the floodwaters on España street that seemed like a large lake.

Those who are unable to take a ride or cross through floods, decided to keep dry under waiting sheds in Santolan.

In Chino Roces in Makati City, traffic was at a stand still due to the floodwaters.

According to PAGASA, the floods were due to a severe thundertorm in Mtro Manila.
