Former House Speaker Prospero Nograles died at the age of 71 on Saturday.
The family did not release details on the cause of his death.
“Papa passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. May we please ask for your continued prayers,” a statement from his son, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles read.
