The Dubai Court of First Instance heard the case of a 30-year-old Egyptian man who was accused of sexually harassing a 40-year-old Filipina while she was hanging clothes to dry on a clothesline.
The complainant said that she was hanging the clothes around 4:00 AM on the day of the incident when the defendant suddenly approached her and inappropriately touched her, reported Gulf News.
The woman said that the suspect, who is her flatmate in Satwa, was under the influence of alcohol when the incident happened.
She yelled at him and immediately alerted the police about the incident. The authorities then arrested the defendant.
The Egyptian confessed that he was drunk when he groped the woman while she was hanging clothes, according to court records.
A verdict is expected on April 29.
