The Philippine peso returned to the Php52 level on Monday and further weakened today as US dollar rallied across Asia.
Peso fell to P52.2 versus the greenback, weaker from P52.04 level last Monday. Peso trading was suspended by Bangko Sentral on Tuesday due to Magnitude 6.1 earthquake that shook Luzon.
Foreign exchange traders see dollar coming on strong ahead of the anticipated data showing positive performance of the US gross domestic product on Friday. Investors are also sanguine over the US-China trade deal which is expected to wrap up within four weeks.
