A 24-year-old teacher is now facing life in prison after being caught with a minor student inside a lodging house in Cebu City early morning on April 22.
Captain Armando Labora of the Parian Police Precinct 1 said they went to the lodging house after they received a call informing them that a teacher was inside a lodging house with a minor.
During the investigation, the Grade 11 student later admitted that something had happened between him and the teacher.
The teacher, however, denied accusations that he has asked the student to have sex with him in exchange for high grades.
The teacher also said nothing happened between him and the student, saying they were only talking inside the lodging house when the police barged in. The suspect said he was stressed so he took the student there for a massage.
The student, who was already in the custody of her parents, will undergo a medical checkup to verify her claims.
The teacher, on the other hand, was slapped with charges of violating Republic Act 7610 or the Child Abuse Law.
