TRAVEL ADVISORY: Cebu Pacific issues statement following Manila Earthquake

Cebu Pacific has released a statement to ensure the safety of their passengers following the recent earthquake that shook parts of Luzon.

“The quake struck at 5.11pm local time, about 60 km north-west of Manila at a depth of 40km. The USGS initially said the magnitude was 6.4 but later downgraded it slightly,” said the report from Reuters.

The airline reports that part of the Clark airport has sustained damages and in the interest of passenger safety, has decided to cancel the remaining flights for the remainder of the day (April 22) as well as flights from Clark tomorrow, Tuesday, April 23.

Cebu Pacific also assured that the affected passengers will be notified immediately and will be advised accordingly about their available options.

“Following damage sustained from this afternoon’s earthquake by the Clark International Airport terminal building, the following Cebu Pacific flights scheduled for TOMORROW, April 23 have been cancelled:

5J 607 Clark-Cebu
5J 606 Cebu-Clark
5J 613 Clark-Bohol (Tagbilaran)
5J 614 Bohol (Tagbilaran)-Clark
5J 913 Clark-Caticlan (Boracay)
5J 914 Caticlan (Boracay)-Clark
5J 537 Clark-Singapore
5J 120 Clark-Hong Kong
5J 121 Hong Kong-Clark
5J 538 Singapore-Clark
5J 985 Clark-Davao
5J 986 Davao-Clark

Passengers on these cancelled flights may take any of the following options:

1. Rebook their flights for travel within 30 days from original departure date, free of charge
2. Get a full refund
3. Place the full cost of the ticket in a Travel Fund
4. Re-route to or from Manila, subject to availability of seats

Affected passengers will be notified via email or text message. They may manage their own booking through the “Manage Booking” section of the Cebu Pacific website (www.cebupacificair.com).
