As heavy rains lashed parts of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has posted a video on social media on April 13 that shows lightning striking the top of Burj Khalifa.
The sound of thunder can be heard in the video, which lasted for 15 seconds.
This, as some schools in Dubai announced class suspension following the advice of Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority due to the bad weather condition.
In other parts of the country meanwhile, residents and motorists in Jebel Jais experienced a flash flood on April 13.
After 15 hours at the top of the highest peak in the UAE, more than 500 people were airlifted by Ras Al Khamah Police rescue chopper on Sunday morning.
The residents were airlifted in 20 batches.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has advised all motorists and sea-goers to take all precautions.
