Up to 200 mentors from the Philippines are needed to teach English in Thailand, according to GMA News.
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) said the teachers will be hired through a government-to-government transaction so there is no need to seek the assistance of recruitment agencies and there are no placement fees required.
Successful applicants can expect up P30,000 monthly salary.
Public school teachers, however, were not allowed to apply because they are needed in the country.
Thailand wants to improve the English proficiency of its Thai students under its “English For All” program.
There are already 13,000 – 14,000 Filipino teachers in Thailand.
Applicants, the labor department advises, should visit the POEA website for details and avoid falling prey to unscrupulous individuals.
