Five Asian workers arrested after robbing Sharjah residence

Authorities arrested at least five Asian nationals who broke into a house in Sharjah while the owner and his family were on vacation abroad.

Initial investigations showed that the suspects were able to cart away with money, jewelry and watches worth a total of one million dirhams.

Police were able to arrest the primary suspect, who was hired by the owners for maintenance of the house. The suspect admitted that he initially plotted to conduct the crime by himself, but decided to enlist the help of four other people to carry out the plan.

The four other suspects were arrested during follow-up operations by Sharjah police. They later admitted of their participation in the crime when the police confronted them with the evidence.

It was also learned the five suspects were illegal residents and have entered the United Arab Emirates without proper documentation.

Sharjah Police praised the timely resolution to the case, highlighting the high efficiency of the investigation by its personnel.

A police official likewise called on residents to avoid dealing with non-registered workers and immediately report any suspicious actions by individuals in their area.
