The Abu Dhabi Police rescued a drowning motorist who threw himself into the sea in an area in Abu Dhabi following a car crash he survived.
The Abu Dhabi Police, citing reports of witnesses, said the Asian driver whose car collided with that of another motorist, got out of his vehicle and jumped into the sea by the road, seemingly unaware of his actions due to the mental shock.
The traffic police patrols rushed to the scene. First Assistant Rashed Salem Al Shehhi, from the traffic control department, dove into the water and within minutes managed to pull the Asian motorist out of the water
Unconscious, the driver was rushed to the hospital where he was in a coma for 10 days.
The Asian motorist has regained consciousness and is nearing full recovery from the psychological trauma.
