PSG orders Sara Duterte to skip campaign sortie

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio revealed that a high-ranking official of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) has barred her from attending their campaign rally in Misamis Occidental on Wednesday.

“That morning, malapit na kami, hindi daw pwede tumuloy,” the presidential daughter, who is also the campaign manager of the coalition Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP),  said on Thursday.

She said that the PSG did not explain the reason for stopping them to proceed to the campaign sortie.

It is unclear whether or not the orders of the PSG is related to the recent event in Malabon wherein President Rodrigo Duterte delivered a speech behind a bulletproof glass.

The president claimed in his speech that someone wants him killed.

He also said that the security arrangements were done by the PSG and that he had nothing to do with their plan.

This is the second time that Duterte-Carpio skipped a campaign sortie in the 90-day campaign period.
